According to the destiny data compendium, Ember of Ashes increases the scorch caused by Sunshot kill explosions from 10 to 15 stacks

I tried to use ember of singeing with sunshot but I don't think the scorch counted

It only scorches the enemies hit by the after kill explosion

If you are looking for á specific scorch build you should try skyburner’s oath. It scorches on hipfire hit
