I've done so many strikes with absolutely nothing. Is there something specific I'm supposed to do? Like nightfalls or sum

Nightfalls will probably be more of a chance of getting it

It’s honestly just going to be rng. You might get it next strike or in 500. Look at what it says on the catalysts page and that will tell you what you need to do.
