How to use witch keys?

When I finish an altar of summoning or spire of savathun, my witch keys dont seem to be consumed. I have the minor arcana cards empowered unlocking, empowered rewards and witchs boon: altars of summoning.

is there a minor card I need to be able to use them?

Are you sure you are not looking at a different seasonal key in your inventory when you’re checking the amount?

they all look very similar

that’s the only thing I can think of

since you don’t have Keeper of the Keys (which gives you a small chance to get it back when you use one)

hmmm no im looking at the witch keys one and it always stays at 5

maybe im just lucky and keep getting it refilled everytime I open a chest?
