forinstaance, today i got exotic arms, but they are not the ones i want can i just keep doing the lost sector until i get the ones i want?

You can yes, two months ago I grinded a lost sector and got like 5 exotics from it

You can also hold on to engrams from a lost sector that only drops chests, then when the featured lost sector drops arms, if you decrypt those engrams from the chest lost sector, you will get arms!
