I'm aware the corresponding exotic armors dont drop with a fireteam but what about enhancement prisms and cores, surely like 1-2 minute runs in a fireteam for prisms/cores would be an insane farm right?

Yeah the materials will drop. While doing them for one of the events or a seasonal challenge, we would occasionally get exotic drops as well
