Obv best dps is double slug + apex, but I get mixed answers on the gear piece. I've heard mostly Ophidian, Necro Grips, & Swarmers.

Depends on what subclass you are on and what you are trying to do
Ophidians for swapping quickly, Swarmers to buff the strand super and threadlings, Necrotic for poisoning the boss with your melee and I believe unraveling? I forgot what warlock strand melee does
But since you said double slug with apex, ophidians is best

assuming you’re talking strandlock, ophid and necrotic are about the same, swarmers is cope and does not increase dps
ppl cope swarmers bc of threadlings giving unravel, but the melee already does that and unravel chains into itself infinitely as long as dmg is being dealt - start dps with a melee and ur chilling
afaik necrotic poison doesn’t stack, so the safe move is ophids since it’s around the same dmg boost and there’s no risk of having it overlap with a teammate

best general exotic is probably lunafaction. other options are verity's, eye, necrotic, and ophid
subclass specific; you have stuff like rain, starfire, geomags, and chorus
geo and chorus are very good, but if you're just going for the best with any amount of teammates, a well with luna is the easy choice
swarmers isn't very good just for boss dps, it's biggest thing is spawning 2 lings on a tangle, unravel is pretty low damage
in most cases, luna will pretty easily outdo ophidian, even just for yourself
