#Why is everyone mad at the new state of the game post?

New gambit map, new crucible map, we dgaf abt our teams and don’t want to overdeliver, that’s it f off
what
didn’t address any of the core issues with the game and was basically just a “yeah guys we COULD make new and meaningful content, but we are too lazy and too situated on churning out overpriced eververse bundles”
they killed gambit
possibly making disjunction part 2
bungie is too lazy to make ritual armor anymore because they're also too lazy to make them look good
money more important that making a good game
basically confirming they gave up on free base content
1 cruc map and admitted they don't have a pvp team. threw gambit and playlist outfits in the trash. basing challenge on once a year level increases and season activities not challenge content like gm/raid.
nothing about appeal to new players and I'm still laughing at them calling making outfits hard
I wasnt too mad at the sotg. I think the addition of the primary only mode is cool. If its popular enough it’ll probably stay or at least be consistent
I really liked that they mentioned the seasonal content and making that more innovative to some extent and that they are beginning to focus on making that less formulaic
I also liked the addition of the materials in collections. I think that could be a real help to the new players out there
I dont really think that the lack of ritual armor is that big of a deal given that most eververse armor is available for bright dust anyways
I do think that its a bit ridiculous that bungie said that pvp maps take resources away from pve content
It really makes you wonder what is up there but it could also be pointing to the fact that bungie could be working on more hidden quests
I think that is a big positive
I also think that their logic for the gambit thing is stupid: we havent done anything in a year with gambit and so player interest is down so we arent going to do anything about it
Also part of me doesnt understand the logic behind the whole resource issue in general
Didn’t they say that they had to stop the devs from overdelivery yet here they are complaining about how they cant meet minimum expectations?
Those two things dont match
Its simply the current direction the game is going in, and this latest update has been the final straw for many people.
Bungie has been under-delivering for the past few years and dropping content at way higher prices than the actual amount of content itself. 30th anniversary is an example of this.
yeah. what other game sells a season separate from a season dungeon separate from mtx separate from a campaign that costs as much as a whole new game?
watch this or aztecross vid about the sotg
The main problem is just that they didn’t assuage concerns
RoN Day 1 was genuinely kind of terrible and many consider it a bit of a farce with how easy it was, and the raid itself relies on incredibly high add density for its difficulty
Recent dungeons have had overly tanky bosses making solo runs comically tedious
People complained a ton about how bad the story was in the campaign of lightfall, and said campaign really wasn’t that great compared to Witch Queen, being filled with what felt like filler but somehow ending too early
And instead of talking about literally ANY of that, they talk a little bit about PvP balancing and why they don’t care about stuff that doesn’t directly make them money
I'm upset about it because it shows that bungie doesnt want to develop D2
it uses old maps as opposed to making new maps (minimal effort for content)
it doesnt really try to make a gamemode more fun (usually requires resources) and it just shut it down slowly (minimal resources needed, can shift some programmers' focus to marathon)
it then try to keep the engagement by just making marketing effort rather than developing their game (bungie & content creators making events)
