So I have 100 silver leaves which is the max and the second part of the solstice quest is to accept silver leaves. Do I seriously have to discard my 100 silver leaves in order to progress or can I somehow avoid this?

you have to do the bond fire bash, it will take some leaves and convert them to silver ash, which will make room for you to accept more leaves

Only thing is it won't let me do the bond fir bash because I'm not far enough into the quest.

Damn, I'm I really gonna have to get rid of all the leaves...
