I'm new to the game, and just got kicked from a raid because my dps wasn't high enough. How can i improve my dps?

strand hunter, root of nightmare, they wantted rockets but i didn't own a rocket launcher

i normally just use sweet buisness it seems strong to me

Alright thanks for the info, here's some suggestions:

Use a power weapon for DPS.
Blowout is a rocket purchasable from Shaxx and it is very good.

If you have bad luck in getting a good rocket, you can try using an exotic power weapon for DPS like Two-tailed fox or Ghally.
You can also be the debuff guy and volunteer to use Tractor Cannon

#

There are ways to test DPS, mainly going to a boss and seeing how fast it dies

Machine guns aren't good for boss DPS, especially Deterministic unfortunately

#

Get yourself a good Blowout or other rocket and you should be fine, but picking an exotic helps with some of the headache of RNG

tracking module is the 3rd and i have a choice between black powder and impact casing for 2nd

That's a decent roll, nothing crazy but could be worse. Keep it until you get a better one.

Alright that's fine

Again, I would try to just use an exotic for DPS or tractor Cannon since that's relatively easy, but keep going for a better Blowout or other rocket if you get the chance

As guy said above blowout is great, so is hothead from zavala in legacy focusing

#

Can also always sun to get the exotic weapons said above, if you don’t wanna stick to rockets you could pop on thunderlord with catalyst etc

#

Since you’re a hunter, for the last encounter especially I don’t recommend a roaming super for damage cos he’ll just suppress you so maybe pop on something like star eaters and blade barrage

#

Or just a one and done super in general

Tractor cannon is also great as it lets you just debuff for the team as the guy said above and it’ll help you get by without worrying about damage

The palymara b is a craftable@rocket launcher and it’s more than decent enough to hold its own + can support team witj chill clip do you have that craftable by any chance

solid rocket launcher

#

can roll with explosive light + impulse

#

even explosive lighht + autoloading

#

many good combos on it

#

chill clip as well

#

and thatll toss away from the rng component for getting a rocket launcher its definitely a good place to start

thats no issue, the best way to level a heavy is run a tether hunter, go to shuro chi pop down a tether shoot a couple rockets then wipe

#

or what i do since im poor is run the breakneck mission in lightfall

#

since it gives free rally barricades, i shoot a tether next to the cyclops shoot a rocket or two then wipe and repeat

Key note I haven't seen mentioned here is try using arc or solar hunter for encounters with damage as they have super with amazing burst damage potential

Also having star eaters with one of these opens you up to running smth like tractor with a rapid fire fusion (vorpal preferred) allowing you to DPS and debuff (it's surprisingly good)
