Ive been fishing for 2 hours and no exotic. am i just that unlucky or have i done something wrong, completed seasonal story and gone fishing quest. I have no idea why im not getting an exotic fish.

Honestly bro, you dont need to catch any fish. You can get the exotic as long as you have someone in your fireteam that HAS fished

for the exotic you need to have bait, otherwise you should be going for perfect catches, since it ever so slightly increases chances

You have quest from hawktorn and fish with people?

you dont need the quest for the specific exotic fishes, you can catch them without it
