Recently got back into Destiny, just learned that Starfire was nerfed into the dirt (5-star Bungo move). I know that sunbracers are currently being used, not sure what to pair it with for when I need to be well-boy.

Get melee kill, charge and consume the grenade to proc heat rises, and then spam sunbracers while flying to massively extend the buff
Ember of Singeing and Ember of Searing are both effectively mandatory, allowing you to ability loop with scorch kills
Ember of ashes is just good in general and is nice synergy with retraced path or the new dungeon smg
Aside from singeing and searing the other embers are basically just preference

It’s 8 times worse, the 20% energy on kill doesn’t make up for it in the slightest
The whole thing that made SFP great was dumping mags into champs and being able to gain grenades for burst damage or procing demolitionist on your rocket launcher
Now it’s just a really bad addclear exotic without much purpose compared to sunbracers which does the whole work of scorching the earth clean of adds better and without requiring the emp rift

You're still getting easy, crazy high damage nades just for doing damage in a rift, along with kills and just getting a flat nade recharge rate.
Saying the kills dont make up for anything at all is just nonsense when it's the exact same amount of energy you used to get per hit

You still get to dump fusions into a champ, you just won't get them both back in 10 hits. Yeah you're right you don't get the same usage out of demo rockets since you can only get 3 or 4 per phase
Just because Sunbracers exists doesn't make it dirt tier
Hell if I'm in a GM I'd easily take Starfire when it's safer and doesn't require the same effort in keeping up the ability loop besides getting a single kill with your fusion nade

honestly starfire still nice if you dont kill those ad and you still get 20% by killing them while standing at enpower or well, use anything 1 shot at red bar
