Red borders that aren’t obtained from a quest or challenge are just rng based. Getting any particular red border from the 30th Ann. set from dares itself is rare as hell.
Most of your crafted 30th Ann. guns will drop more reliably from the chest in the treasure hoard

6 months ago there was data collected off of dsc red borders and the data they collected was abt a 1/4 shot for whenever a weapon drops to be red border but dont take my word for it

Certainly doesn't feel like a 1/4
Or I'm just very unlucky

out of 577 drops off dsc encounter 320 were weapons out of those red border 101 were red borders so the math it says around 30% so id say its a 1/4

I don’t think all chances to get a red border are the same though, like they made the chance to get a red border in dsc higher after community feedback
