Im currently 1790 Hunter, looking for a good DPS weapon that i can use for dungeon bosses and such, am yet to do any dungeons so ideally please only suggest weapons that are able to be obtained with my light level

I mean apex predator is good
It’s from a raid (Last Wish) but said raid is imho easier than a lot of dungeons assuming you have a decent team
When it’s on rotator you can farm the first boss kalli with any halfway decent linear fusion rifle and get red borders of Apex

Blowout can be focused at Shaxx and it's a good stepping-stone. Look for something like Field Prep + Explosive Light/Vorpal/Frenzy.

Banshee in the tower is selling a tarantula, not the best perk roll for boss dps, but you can't really go too wrong with Linear fusion rifles for boss dps
if you're looking to get a weapon today, there's that, but if you're just looking for the best future option, check where Xur is tomorrow he might have a decent heavy weapon/linear fusion

You can get Sleeper Simulant from the monument to lost lights
That's a very good weapon for damage

He doesn't have to wait a week. It's not unrealistic to do 21 strikes in 4 days
And it doesn't even have to be strikes, if he likes pvp that also works for xenology
Doing things one would already be doing is tedious?
You'd already be doing strikes to increase your light level, why not have xenology up and get a really good gun for DPS in the process?

Rockets aren't good for all bosses anyways. But yeah, I don't see a problem with just grinding for Sleeper and Hothead, which can be done simultaneously. Strikes are something you would normally grind anyways

That's something to aim for ragon sure, but until then, check in with banshee and tomorrow check in with Xur's loot pool
