One of my homies started the game and wanted to try warlock or titan. Which is better in the long run?

titan

every class is viable in the long run. just pick whatever and try it out. you can always make another character. - as someone who plays all 3 classes

i was a hunter main for three years and then i tried warlock for a year. now i'm doing titan and i think it's the one i've enjoyed the most. plus the fashion is really good. warlocks not so much

titan is the strongest right now, and was around duality launch too, syntho bonk hammer build will be insane unless they tune it down a lot, warlock is a faster class and is usually the strongest

I would say warlocks have low skill floor so makes it easier to pick up the class and use it

#

Good survivability with good dmg and a good easy to use class ability

Id say warlock is better simply because well exists for pve and void exists for pvp but the titan main in me says we need to get our population up

Hunter is objectively the worst class in pve for the last few years

their only worthwhile meaning in stuff like day 1 raids is accomplished by a tractor cannon

Warlock all the way, titans are not that great compared to warlocks and hunters

#

There’s a reason why titans are the rarest class to see in speedruns and top placing worlds first teams

Salt is a Titan main

Warlock have been the pve meta for a while and probably still are even post starfire nerf but honestly most people will play 3 character. For new player I always recommend hunter as it’s the simplest to pick up and play

Why not tell him to play both and pick whatever he enjoys the most. I started on hunter but quickly became a warlock main. Ultimately all three classes are viable endgame

#

And I don't think a new light should care in the slightest about "world firsts and speedruns".... heck, even GMs. Let the man play + have fun, can easilly create a new character and catch it up

Minus competitive speedruns maybe (other than DSC), but that shouldn't be even part of the conversation

Unless well of radiance is extremely gutted, warlock is and will be the best class in the entire game.

#

In the long run, a warlock will always be great. Other stuff is “viable” like you said but more situational, not really the best word but only I can think of right now

#

Equally viable is not the way I’d put it. Anything titan has does not equal well of radiance, but titan can still be used in end game content just like hunter

Warlock and Titan have been trading the title of strongest in PVE for a while but Hunters definitely have their place with tether, trip-spam/blade barrage, omni, gyrfalcon’s, star eaters

#

Warlock imo is the one to go for as all of their subclasses seem PVE viable without too much risk plus you have access to Well which is very good

#

plus you get to be mystical spellcaster

#

When choosing a very first class it kinda helps to just look at it from an RPG player’s perspective - what type of gameplay do I want my character to do, what sounds cool

^^ best advice imo

I feel that Warlock have the PVE and PVP aspects you would want in a Guardian, but Titans I think have PVE advantage in some scenarios, rather it be pure power or the will to protect and give their life for the Fireteam.

#

Along with amount of Hunters and Warlocks there are in PVP, its rare to see a Titan in PVP, plus the factor of Titans having a "Well of Radiance" themselves, aka Void Bubble, which helps end game wise in PVE.

#

But nothing can defeat the fact that Guardian is never wrong or right with their choice, rather it be Titan, Warlock, or Hunter.

#

Its what inside them that makes them a Guardian, someone that dedicates their life to making a Titan, Warlock, or Hunter that fits them.

For last 2-3 seasons titans were the strongest pvp class in the game monkaHide

#

Or should i say ever since arc 3.0 was released

i like warlock for pve and titan for pvp or mid-level pve, but that's mostly because I havent built completely into my titan for pve yet

its mainly because they can't skate

#

and the strengths titan has are not valuable in speedruns

#

there is no point being unkillable if you arent going to die anyway

#

they are used for dps in stuff like dsc lol

i find hunter w gyrfalcon to be one of the best out there for soloing things

Lmfao there’s no way you’re egoing rn 💀

#

You’re literally a gos farmer how do you not know how badly titan fares compared to warlock and hunter for most raid dps

#

to start, i’d say titan. I used to main warlock and still kinda do, i think they’re the best but you have to play smart with them

#

But the reason i say titan is because i’ve been running arc titan this season…and man it’s fun af

#

it’s not that it’s better, it’s just strictly fun

#

but also pretty good
