#Can somebody help me understand raids?

So, in "PVE LFG Channels" category, there's a channel for each specific raid. Also, if you're looking to learn a raid, #find-a-sherpa is another place to look / post. Depending on what group you're joining, people will ask you to do different things - message them on discord, join a raid voice room, or just join them in game. "how raids work" is a pretty big question and I'm not sure where to start with that đ
Okay! Thank you
Itâd help to know some slang here.
Since youâre new to this. Raiding is a more information heavy activity.
LFnumberM is short for Looking for ** more. Guardians needed.
Sherpa is a guardian who can teach/explain
Kwtd is âKnow what to doâ in this you can expect players/guardians to understand the raid and itâs encounters.
Yup
Most raids have 4 encounters, a few have 5. Each encounter awards loot, and usually there are âjumping puzzlesâ between encounters which serve as parkour challenges
Each encounter in a raid awards random loot from the raidâs lootpool, with a different pool of loot for each encounter in the raid
Usually raids center around a few core mechanics, although some raids have vastly different mechanics from encounter to encounter (this is the case for Vault of Glass mainly although there are a few others)
Unlike dungeons, raids have âwipe mechanicsâ which kill every member of the fireteam should a criteria occur, usually running out of time or performing an action incorrectly
(if youâve ever played the duality dungeon, nightmare collapsing is a wipe mechanic, one of the few of such outside of raids)
