But you mentioned non-exotic heavy weapons. That’s basically just swords

Swords and fusions are pretty much it for non-exotics. Shotguns are good if you can hit crits, but that's usually more difficult in close-range DPS phases without a div.

Riptide with chillclip and the last wish fusion with controlled burst are some of the best secondary dps options. That being said they dont exactly compare to heavies
