I just reached Soft Cap with gear and now i’m lost on what to do to get better. How do i go about getting better gear.What activities do i focus on now?

Once you reach the soft cap of 1750 the only way to get better gear is farming Powerful/Pinnacle drops. Most vendors in the tower have a drop you can obtain per week, as well as raids and other activities.

Weekly raids, and Roots of Nightmare.
Weekly raids can be found on plenty of websites, just google weekly raid destiny 2 and you should be able to find it pretty easily.
As Roots is the newest raid, you'll get a pinnacle drop from each encounter every Tuesday at 1pm EST.
