I completed Light fall on PS and have a ton of resources with no idea on how to use them, could use any advice

Well, that depends on what you mean by resources. There are a few paths. First i would suggest if you like pve to start with harder content
Try some higher nightfall strikes
Get the best armor and weapons you can
Watch videos on builds and find a build you like.
Watch videos on how to do dungeons and raids. They have the best gear but are also marginally harder and require teamwork(mostly)

I have, felt like I was a 3rd wheel, does not seem as though my weapon are good enough for nightfall, I have watched a few, they seem to mention thigs I just dont have

I can think of a few good early game weapons you can get right off the bat. My first suggestion is to run regular strikes to get a hothead.

Its from zavala, you need 2 of his engrams to focus it and all you gotta do is grind strikes for a while and get the best roll
Next is getting a good riptide. Run pvp for a while, to get the riptide fusion from shaxx. You’re looking for the chillclip perk
Those are 2 of the best weapons.
You dont really need to worry about armor yet. You’ll have bad armor for a little while until you get into dungeons

I am almost at 1800, but still think my toys are under par except Thunderlord, but runs out of ammo, and got a trace rifle yesterday

Yeah, thunderlord is good but you really need the catalyst for it to be really good dps.

Gjallarhorn is pretty easy to get
Catalyst is also pretty easy but it means doing a dungeon. I can help with that though
