awesome many thanks! I just wasn't sure of the difficulty scaling of things like raids and dungeons and just wanted to test the waters but wasn't sure of things

Raids are easy

#

Join an lfg that says teaching and learn the raid. Easiest is probably vog.

Imo nightfalls especially gms are harder than any raid.

nightfalls just give you some game sense

#

as a new player, raids would be too cool and make nightfalls lame

nightfalls are fun as a new player and it would just teach you some basic game sense

yeah I figure I'll try nightfalls first to see if I'm alright with higher difficulty before having to deal with mechanics at the same time

I haven't even really gotten into builds and specific weapons and all that stuff yet I'm very much still a casual just trying to get my footing but again thanks for the advice!

nightfalls are a good entry point in general, but its optional

Dares is also a good way to dip your toes into encounters with mechanics with very low stakes

#

dungeons are a good next step after nightfalls purely because they take less time than raids
