Was doing a solo run of spire, went well for the most part nevermind the 9 phase akkelous but once I reached Persys, I literally just couldnt pull if off.

#

I was running grand overture on a void subclass for hunter so I could go invis and run if in trouble and I still couldnt ever kill him. Closest run was like 4.4 million damage or something like that.

#

How much health does this thing have? And what can I do to be able to finish the solo run whenever I retry tomorrow?

#

To add: I dont have thunderlord so I cant use that.

two tailed fox is best imo (if you have cata)

#

you can take as long between damage phases to get more ammo as you need (assuming survival isn't an issue)

for solo runs, it's all about:

  1. maximize survivability, death = SIGNIFICANT time lost
#
  1. Increase damage output as much as possible while maintaining survivability

I was running void to try and have a get out of jail free card up fairly frequently with the vanishing step. Obviously that didn’t work out.

#

I also saw someone one shot the dude with arc nades or something like that which is interesting, but i don’t really want to cheapen my first solo of the dungeon with that lol

i feel you gamer, it took me a while as well. i found the thing that worked for me was witherhoard then a RL with demo and explosive light. if all else fails there’s always the cheese…

taking out the hydras/minos with void (bricks from beyond) helps

when i beat him i had to do i think 4-5 dps phases? im void hunter and i used my sidearm with repulsor brace for more protection (1/2)

#

and for dps i used regnant and witherhoard so i could do tick damage and do more burst damage with the gl cause the dps hpase is pretty short (2/2)

#

honestly tho with the solo dungeons, focus on living first and dps second lmao when i finally got the garden harpy boss done in spire i was probably close to double digit dps phases

I did a few more runs on him as essentially practice for when I restart tomorrow

#

closest ive gotten is a second and third 3.4ish mil damage run

osteo striga with any void class works great with devour, for dps leviathan

I used Sleeper for my solo and my later Solo Flawless, just gotta hit the crit but it’s decent

honestly my suggestion is to watch some speedrunner do it

#

try xemo or someone like him

#

hezen + starfire + well

#

solo speedrunners like him optimize for damage so copying their loadouts rarely goes wrong

#

especially since all mods are available now

speed runners are the best people to watch when trying to learn anything

#

why my akelous only took me 3 phases

I wanted to do it on my hunter as I really dislike the jumps on other classes and seem to find creative ways to fail even the simplest parkour with warlock for example.

#

It’s why I prefer playing hunter almost all the time

#

Otherwise I certainly would have tried it
