Pretty much all shotguns have 8-9m of range w/opening shot except for rapid fires which have 5-6m last i checked. Lightweights have 7-8. Its been a while though.
I’d say your best pvp shotguns are: felwinters, astral, found verdict, matador, and fractethyst. These are your pellet shotguns. Slugs are an entire other can or worms

idk bout lists but best for pvp: matador and imperial decree/fracethyst
best for pve is wastelander and heritage, idk bout any good energy shotguns

Nessas oblation is good in pve it’s a mildly worse heritage in the energy slot
