Well, in the seasonal activity, if you emoted at the chest as you opened it, you were garanteed a red border as long as it was a weapon

I havent done the activity in a while and i still got a few red borders to get.

People thought it was still connected to the season 18 stuff for some reason, but I think it was just luck. some runs it worked and others it didn't

its not guaranteed thats just your luck

though the only thing ive seen about guaranteed red borders is your guaranteed 1 at the start of each
