Triumph progression

I have focused a couple of engrams into weapons and armor but the Defiant Focusing/Bulwark isn’t progressing. Is this a common issue or am I doing something wrong?

Did you focus one of each armor and weapon? I was able to complete this earlier in the season

Armor might have to be one piece for each class if you spread it out across several maybe.

Yeah, a bond and some weapons, but it didn’t check any of the items listed in the triumph.

Never mind. I focused each gear item and they were both completed, but it didn’t show progression when I bought the helmet and bow.
