If you want to know about buffs, weapon archetypes and other general game knowledge, D2spreadsheets is a good place to start. I cant link it here but a simple google “destiny 2 spreadsheet” will bring it up.
for builds, there are several YouTubers like Aztecross or Datto that post weapon reviews/builds that you can check, and mobalytics is a website that also has builds and explains why the weapons work with the build.
d2 build crafting is a pretty massive endeavor and there isn’t much the game tells you in regards to it, so online resources tend to be what everyone leans towards.
