i would definitely not use hammerstrike in pve

I don't know the specific damage numbers, but strike probably does more in exchange for having a cooldown. However, the mini hammer is just better because it doesn't have a cooldown

Mini hammers is just overall good for constant damage and creating sunspots.
Hammerstrike has both the benefits of using it to close the gap and igniting enemies on impact
