Many loot tables online differ for kings fall, so was wandering if its faster farming something like the gate encounter since I know that it drops from that, or is it better to farm challenge oryx or something?

Gate encounter would be my vote too. Smallest loot pool so highest chance (33%) for Chelchis as well as a quick clear.

Oryx would possibly be easier to get a group for because exotic farm (but only 20% chance of Chelchis)

so Oryx is the easier to get a group, but slightly lower drop chance
Gate is optimal farm, but harder to get a group for

imo if you need the exotic, go for oryx and 2 birds one stone
