I have done the quest for the comp weekly challenges (so I can get rose). I dont have the weekly challenge though. I also dont have it on any of my titan or hunter.

no but I dont have the quest on them. and I am ranked on them since the rank is universal. So I dont have any placement matches to do.

So you can just go comp on other chars and play

I dont really play on the other characters. So I havent done the 7 matches on them. I also looked and couldnt get the quest from the tower. Just looked at termal too, nothing there.
and yeah I can just play comp on those characters

To get Rose in Destiny 2, you'll have to complete the Dividing the Ladder quest from Lord Shaxx, tasking you with completing placement matches in the Competitive playlist in Crucible. Once you have completed this quest you will earn a static roll of Rose.
