Just rng, nothing you can do for vex specifically to increase the drop chance. The boss cp completion is all you need to do.

when it is on rotator you can farm VoG to your hearts content so that's my advice, lots of groups running boss farms for exotics when the particular raid is on rotator
current rotator is VoW so can farm rhulk for collective obligation as many times as you like vs normally 1/char/week

You need to do the quest for the golden binglesnorter which is unlocked after getting the silver smeegle from glassway
It’s a rare drop, run glassway when it’s the rotator nightfall and you should get it
Once the silver smeegle drops you need to take the portal in the farm basement to the galaxy pools and cleanse it
Then do 29 div runs of GoS and bam
You’ll have the golden binglesnorter, which nonuples the drop chance of vex

rotator is the raid that rewards pinnacles
when on rotator, VoG can be farmed on a single character as many times as you like
when it is not on rotator (as it is now), you only have 1 chance per character per week to get the exotic
this week, correct
it can be just the boss checkpoint, does not require a full clear
