I've been plagued with consistently low dmg during dmg phase in any encounter on my hunter. Can anyone offer some constructive advice on how to boost my dmg please?

I've recently changed to auto loading and chill clip since I use wither hoard often. Auto loading was previously demolitionist.

I figured since I played on strand and stasis a lot, I don't really use my nades often during boss dmg phase. So I thought autoloading would help boost dmg in most scenarios.

1, witherhorde isn’t for swapping it’s for demo starfire

2, chill clip is bugged and doesn’t boost dps as much as it should so frenzy is better

Strand hunter’s super is bugged to all hell and deals stupid amounts of damage when spamming light attack

Use SES with it, you’ll help a lot

Run stareater scales for bonus super damage on strand until it gets nerfed

What about bosses I can't reach with super? Anything I can do about raw weapon dmg? Could I possibly be missing way more than others?

I've managed to average out a bit better when I have two tailed fox, but that I'd prefer not to use my exotic slot for heavy.

Also the reload dodge helps you to get another rocket out quickly

I would pair an autoloading rocket with izanagi with 1 kinetic and 2 elemental surges for your rocket

Isn't that maybe one reload per dmg phase? When I say my dmg is significantly lower, it's as if I'm missing my shots when I can clearly see dmg numbers.

You probably won’t like to hear it but that probably is an l2p issue then, can’t help more than suggesting the meta damage loadout.

L2p = learn to play. Don't stress about your dps as long as you can still kill bosses

Auto loading on rockets is only useful when you do swaps (like izanagi)

Well, I assumed it was a skill issue, but that's what I'm trying to figure out. 😅

Demo saves you like a 3 sec loading animation. In those 3 seconds others shoot one to two more rockets while you reload

It's just mathematics and has nothing to do with you not landing crits on rockets

#

If you feel like you miss rockets, try linear + sniper or double linear (like cataclysm + arby)

I can try putting demo back on, but that's the reason I changed to auto loading in the first place. Dmg was really low.

I just explained to you that auto loading does nothing for you unless you swap with eg. Izanagi's burden or a sniper or whatever

Also chuck on two or three surges matching your heavy + elemental time dilation(s) + stacks on stacks

Just play around with builds. Different loadouts. Even if your team runs rockets, check if you do better with double linears. Missing rockets = missing damage

Bro farm the hothead at zavala. You should focus on (or what I have (2M dmg Taniks DSC one phased)) field prep for reload speed and explosive light and alloy casing

Adept gives you like 3 reload speed

It's the most minor stat bump on earth and lets you run major and boss spec together

and gives you honed edge x4 which does a ton of damage

the reason its so good is because the time you reload your rocket should have been reload from auto loading

If you really need a rocket two tailed with cata is on paper better than a hothead in group of 6 even with gjally but a single arc grenade being thrown deletes that benefit

Well i did something over 2M on Taniks. Make sure your reload speed is as fast as possible. That's where field prep comes : )

also, missing two rockets would equal a loss of up to 250k I think. I can't remember the single rocket dmg numbers from testing but it would be something around there

dont use witherhoard since your on titan

witherhoard is the actual only way to improve your current dps but witherhoard cancels out others

It's like this in all classes. Warlock is admittedly better dmg than my hunter and titan, but still not top.

At 1810 you'd have to be missing half your rockets or spending all your time in reload animations
