you can purchase one from rahool, for me personally the best ascendant shard farm has been gms when there is double loot
whenever I do double loot weekend (not double rep) in gms my ascendant shards overflow
i went from 0 - 18 which is 2 below max and i had spent some of those

you can also try master nightfalls when its double loot weekend

yeah you still have time to prepare until double loot shows up
but i really havent seen too many ascendant shards drop elsewhere
unlike the sheer amount you get from double loot gms
