Hey im a beginner with 1650 power and i dont know what missions to start on because im fairly new to destiny 2 and i want to get my power up and better weapons etc..

are you free to play or bought any dlc? if you are f2p, you can do just about anything to get to 1750 which is the soft cap, after that there will be more specific activities to do
having the latest dlc, lightfall, will give you a campaign that can be more direct in terms of doing missions to prgress.

no no no sorry, having lightfall just gives you a more clear path to progress your power, each mission on either normal or legendary difficulty withh give you higher level gear.
without lightfall, you can still level up, it's just not as clear of a path as doing the next story mission. anything you do in the game will increase your power up to 1750.
doing strikes, patrols, gambit, or the free to play raids like vog or kings fall, or the free dungeon prophecy. the raids and dungeons will proabbly require a
team to help you the first time though, so you might wait on those for now.

if your at 1650, the best bet your gonna have is just doing activites your having fun with
the game will keep dropping gear that is higher then your current light until you reach 1750
after you reach 1750 you will have to start doing powerful/pinnacle gear to reach 1800

you can look him up on youtube
if you want to spend your money on the game (would recommend) you should buy the legacy collection first and not lightfall
