Is thread of generation based off damage or hits?

depending on your class, it's a hit or miss for the weapon.

It's not like Starfire protocol and how we'll do 50k per nade and it's instant every second. Witherhoard is passive, but in reality like... I personally (feel free to disagree) you should use an SMG or some fast gun

Witherhoard is good for passive dmg, but to invest in gernade energy when they don't do much (without stacking other buffs ontop of that) is something to consider.
