Been trying different things training for solo flawless, nothing really works that well.
What would you say are the best or easiest strategies/builds/guns to do this pretty safely?

If you want pure safety, I was running solar warlock with karnsteins and a glaive back during season of the haunted. Both forms of healing plus the glaive shield should be pretty good.
Your damage might not be great, but I would hotswap to starfire when damage started on the bells. Then just swap back.
If the heavy glaive isn’t still disabled in dungeons then that might be an even better option for one shotting most ads
