new player here. my understanding is the cap for this season is 1810; meaning no one can go past this number. but when i hover over nightfall masters the recommened light level is 1840. how does this work?

big number make more challenge, thats why nightfall. Very hard. Can get higher than 1810 by leveling your artifact tho

so you just go into the nightfall 30 lower than recommended?

1810 is the max level without your artifact, artifact lvls can further increase your powerlevel
for legend (1830) youre capped at 1815 and for master (1840) youre capped at 1820 even if you have a higher powerlvl
the went a bit high with the legend requirements this season 1800 for legend and 1830 for master would have been reasonable imo
