I'm 1766 power and dont know what to do next to get stronger. Should I try to do a Raid or just keep grinding Nightfalls until I hit max power? I haven't played since Forsaken so i'm pretty confused overall.

at your light level you should be doing powerful drops , if you don't care much about hitting powerful cap in week 1 then you can just do both powerful and pinnacles.

You can see which activity drops powerful/pinnacle whenever the activity has a golden circle next to it hovering over it should tell you what it drops
