#Help with Weapon choices?

I wanna feel like im pulling my weight and i havent been on the game for a while before lightfall dropped, so what are some good choices i can obtain now that could help me in both pve and pvp?

For weapons I enjoy using I like Auto Rifles, scout rifles that you can hold the trigger down on (like servants leader/Randys), SMGs, linear fusion rifles, LMG's, sidearms, hand cannons.

Im open for other weapon types but thats what im most comfortable with atm. also with masterworked gear, does it just improve on the weapons stats or is there another use for it? Thanks guys.

For PvE
Ammit is a good auto rifle and its also craftable and you get the pattern very easily, other than that i don't think there are many good autos
For scout there are good options and now we have full auto fire as a setting so technically every weapon is full auto so its upto your choice

For SMGs, Ikelos SMG (not farmable anymore), Funnelweb (Volatile rounds in artifact), Unforgiven (from duality, good for void builds), Submission ( From VoW,craftable),Atm Xur is also selling a good smg

For LFRs, Taipain (very easy to get,craftable), Cataclysmic(From VoW,Craftable) are very good options, arbalest is still very good
For HCs, Zaoulis bane (from kings fall) is very good with good pve perk combos

If you want to try out bows both wishender (exotic quest in the shattered throne dungeon) and le monarque (exotic kiosk)

whenever a weapon has a red border around it, it means the weapon is craftable. You inspect the weapon then extract the pattern from it. Some weapons need 5 red border patterns to be extracted before you can finally craft it.

once you craft the weapon you have to level it up by either using it in a mission (or just equip the weapon at the end to get progress) or by getting kills with it as perks in columns are locked behind weapon level

For PvP
SMGs are very strong right now especially ikelos smg(craftable version), tarrabah and they are even more ridiculous with peacekeeper titans
HCs are good if you can play your range good examples would be Ace of Spades, Eyasluna, Rose , Fatebringer, Hawkmoon
For pulse rifles No Time To Explain is still the best, Disparity is good
For scouts DMT is the only good option

awh man im gonna have to try those out when i get home, do you also have any advice for armor set building? i have a pretty good set for my solar hunter but i think it could be better. i wanna look for legendary pieces that have a total of 60+ and have high spikes on stats i wanna focus on right? are there certain stats that are just better for pve, like resilience and recovery to stay alive longer?

In addition mobility is good for a hunter, because of the dodge cooldown

same goes for warlock and recovery, but overall its just resilience and discipline across the board
