I'm new to destiny and my warlock is currently light lvl 1453. What should I be doing to get exotics and better gear?

When I started out I visited Xur weekly to get some of my first exotics and some great armor pieces.

If you have the Shadowkeep DLC the Pit of Heresy boss is a great place to get good gear

#

Once youre high enough you can do Lost Sectors on Legend difficulty or Nightfalls to get exotics

untill d2 goes down for the lightfall update the witch queen campaign will be free to play, and youll keep what you earned so id reccomend gettin together a fireteam and goin through the campaign.
