In this context, is buying the Legacy Collection a waste of money when you should just get Beyond Light by itself? Or should I get either Witch Queen or Lightfall first instead?

I prefer a benevolent light type of aesthetic when it comes to armor, so I was thinking either Beyond Light or Lightfall, but I really don't even know what kind of content BL offers

Legacy collection will get you the most content for the money (especially if you get it on sale). Witch queen has the best campaign by far if you’re looking for story content.
Lightfall isn’t out yet, but will have the most relevant content if you want to play what the rest of the community is playing. It will likely have a strong campaign as well.

I remember playing the Shadowkeep intro mission and i was like damn this is dope, same with Witch Queen. Legacy sounds good then. stasis subclass sounds neat fs

All the campaigns have good intro and final missions, but witch queen is the only one with a consistently good story. Beyond light is ok, but shadowkeep's campaign is mostly filler content.

Wq deluxe you get past seasons, this season, access to the 2 dungeons etc and if get bl for stasis stuff.

Honestly buy lightfall when it drops, and then the legacy collection which will then include witch queen when you can

If you want challenges then I would wait for the steam spring sale (if you play on pc) bc then you'll be able to get Lightfall deluxe for 40$ which will come with all content for that year.
