You don't need the season for Calus Mini-Tool, Austringer, Beloved and drang btw. Makes it easier to get red borders with focusing tho

I had to get the season. I don't know how you can get it otherwise, you can't access the cos without it.

You should just be able to open chests on the Leviathan and get those weapons if I'm not mistaken, since Derelict Lev and Containment is free
You open normal chests, those can drop keys. Open the key chests and those drop weapons
That can get pretty boring tho, so being able to focus at CoS is very nice
