i got both should you choose to accept it part 1 and 2 to the point where you complete seraphs shield on legend mode

and when i finished the activity only hunters trace 2 was unlocked. Do i need to redo the quest on another character to get hunters trace 3?

because both quests were completed

The quest gives you the perk unlocks ("catalysts"), for Hunters Trace you just need to complete Legend. So you just gotta do it again
