#How exactly does one farm encounters?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Its all up to the host
host has a checkpoint for encounter x on character a
fireteam joins host, who loads up encounter x
fireteam waits in encounter x while host leaves fireteam, before changing to character b
host joins the fireteam as character b, the team does the encounter, character b beats the encounter
host leaves, switches to character a
fireteam joins host, who loads them into encounter x
repeat from this step
essentially its abusing the fact that encounter checkpoints arent shared between characters, meaning that beating an encounter on one character doesnt reset any checkpoint progress you have on another
and since the person with the checkpoint leaving the fireteam doesnt boot the other people out, you can sort of piggyback off yourself in this way
do note that unless the encounter is one in the weekly rotator dungeon or raid, repeat runs dont grant any loot
so you can only farm the rotator raid/dungeon
(also, the most recent raid provides spoils every repeat run, which is why people farm KF daughters)
(once lightfall raid comes out, whatever the fastest encounter in that is will be used for spoils farming)
@delicate steeple , hope this helps
Thank you so much! I understand it now. I wasn't sure if I had to 'reset checkpoint progress' myself between encounters or something like that, but doesn't seem like it's needed. Thanks!
