I have been playing the game recently again and dont know how to progress properly I am 1579 light I would like some guidance on what to do or get to keep going

You can get up to 1580 with Powerfuls, and up to 1590 with Pinnacles. So as youre at 1579 just do Pinnacles.

Gambit, Crucible, Strike Weekly challenge is +1 Pinnacle all others +2 (Raids, Dungeons, Throne World stuff etc.)

The power caps go up +10 every season and a I think +50 every Expansion
