I did 1 with a group yesterday, just make sure the effects on the symbol happen before you move on.

I’ve noticed the melee symbols lose their activated effect after a couple seconds. Not sure why, kinda seems like you need to do all 4 in a rapid succession

You do have to do it fast, but they shouldn't lose it in that timeframe. I was the activate person and called when I was done as I activated it. That didn't work.
Next time I did it a second after the meter filled, that completed it.
The all at the same time didn't work for us, fwiw.
