#what is min maxing?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it's when you find a build or strat, and you can basically run it, but you want to optimize as much as possible
that's essentially what it is
minimum waste and maximum efficiency
minimizing unnecessary stats to put maximum points in essential stats.
like an arc Hunter running high Mobility + Resilience, but low recovery and strength.
Why do that? Arc Hunters can force health regen on kills, and can reload their melee charge on dodge
so...you basically get to use the most by "minimizing waste" as anonymous said, so you can put as many points as possible into key stats
coincidentally i main arc hunter so how would i get high mobility but low recovery for example
Part of its random chance, and requires doing it a few or more times per piece usually. The most common way to roll legendary armor now is umbral engrams and seasonal decoding with a ghost mod.
You run PsiOps, or Leviathan’s event, or now KetchCrash, and decode armor in the respective place.
armor is what carries the stats right?
Take a ghost, and in there there are armorer mods. It’ll guarantee a stat spike on a specific stat
Yeah 🙂 all your stats are related to your armor you’re wearing. The only stat weapons affect beyond themselves is your power level
ok ok
So stats have 2 trees. Top and bottom. Top is Mobility, Resilience, Recovery. Bottom is Discipline, Intellect, Strength.
When you add a ghost mod, it forces a “spike” in one stat. For example I usually use a Discipline mod for PVE builds.
It forces Discipline to be higher, and “spike” up. Then, it forces another stat (usually 1) to be high on the top tree
Sorry I’m having to break this up into small messages because of character limits 🙂
So if you use the Discipline Armorer mod, you’ll see one of the top 3 usually is higher. Then it’s a matter of just grinding the right gear
My arc Hunter has T10 Mobility, 10 resilience, 3 recovery; 6 discipline, 6 intellect, 3 strength.
That’s just from running mods and grinding gear, and as I find pieces that fit my vision I keep them and delete the ones that don’t fit
It’ll probably take a week or two to get a really good build but that’s part of the game
👍
Hope that helped and wasn’t convoluted! Have fun!
