Dropped vs Crafted Guns

Are dropped guns generally better than crafted guns because you can masterwork them or do crafted guns have the masterworked stats already ?

crafted guns are able to be crafted to the users exact desire including the masterwork

so to answer crafted>random drop

The reason im confused is that random drops have a slot where you can upgrade them and crafted guns dont , or do i need to upgrade the crafted ones in reshape
