Destiny Optimizer recommends getting the +1 Pinnacles before the +2. Is there any particular reason to this or does it depend more on my current gear?

Depends on your current gear. If a +1 can get you to the next level it can make sense to try that one first.

So it does depend on the gear. I guess D2 optimizer is recommended enough in the community that whatever it says is probably accurate.

Yeah for the most part the order doesnt matter too much, just when youre close to leveling up. So if you only have one +1 and one +2 left, and only the +2 can get you to next level you'd wanna do +2 first
