Would love some help figuring out what exactly I should be doing, adjusting gear, deciding on weapons etc. Currently have a 1509 Arc Hunter and a 1525 Solar Warlock.

Hold on to gear that is around 64+ in terms of stat wise. Make sure it is in the areas where it matters for your particular build.

#

i.e. you wouldn't want all your points going into discipline if you are building a melee build.

#

Make sure to look at light.gg for common G-rolls though keep in mind that rolls are player preference. And just have fun.

#

Arc hunters are typically (at least in this season) melee builds though I like to use brigands law on my hunter

#

Solar warlocks can be either melee focused, grenade focused, or fusion focused depending on what exotics you have.

The build I was looking at for Arc hunters was grenade focused.

Then throw on stuff like grenade kickstart and innervation. Lucky raspberry would also be pretty good.

#

For your class item, you can throw on something like bomber so whenever you have your class ability, you can use it to get grenade energy back.

#

If you have Firepower which is a charged with light mod, you can also go that route which would really help with grenade cooldowns.

They said to use Shinobu's Vow instead of Lucky Raspberry but how would I even obtain these exotic items and how do I get all these mods that I need for the build?

dim osprey
#

Ada for the mods (random chance daily) and just playing the game for the most part.

#

I believe shinobu and lucky rasp are both world drops so you just have to get lucky or you could do the legend/masters lost sectors once you are high enough.

#

I believe but I am not certain that you can get some of the mods from decrypting engrams but like I said I am not certain.

#

So I would say you can start building towards the build you want but build-crafting tends to be towards late-end game content.

#

In my opinion, I would first focus on getting your light level up and then worry about build-crafting once you can access the harder content.

#

So what exactly should I be doing to get my light level up efficiently?

in the Director, these sources are noted with a yellow circle

#

just run through what you can and youll get power bonus

#

keep the highest light item per slot; feel free to dismantle whatever else only IF you keep those items for levelling purposes

dim osprey
#

Powerful and pinnacle rewards don't start at that light level, they start once you get to the soft-cap.

#

So Cody, the fastest way that I have found to get to soft-cap mainly consists of crucible and the armor finder ghost mod if you have it.

#

Strikes and gambit probably also work, I just typically stick with crucible.

storm linden
#

okay I'll try out crucibles.

#

Another tip, do not infuse every armor you find into your current.

#

You do not even have to wear the highest light level armor you find. Just keep the highest light level armor in your inventory and then infuse them into your more permanent armor once you get to soft-cap

storm linden
#

What is soft cap this season?

dim osprey
#

I believe it is 1570 but it could be 1560.

#

I didn't really pay attention to it since I got to pinnacle cap last season which is by default the soft-cap the season after.

storm linden
#

Should I be decrypting any engrams I get or saving them until I reach that soft cap?

dim osprey
#

Decrypt. I do not believe they count as gear so if you have a 1550 engram, it will not count as your highest gear until it is decrypted.

#

Plus you will get plenty of other gear later.

#

Engrams are a dime a dozen.

use lfg to efficiently get through harder powerful/pinnacle activities
