first question - go in #destiny-stats and you can find out what is most commonly used in pve though that's not always necessarily what is best

Thank you! The first generally good ones is the ones I'm looking for. Obviously I'm sure there's raid specific gear for specific bosses etc.

the soft cap this season is 1570 so just do powerfuls/pinnacles to get your light up. there's plenty of websites/guides/videos that can help you do it optimally.
once you hit 1570 only pinnacles will advance your gear score to 1580
i'm assuming your last question is talking about the vanguard strike pinnacle?

they do have puzzles, but every dungeon can be done solo or you can find people via #dungeons

people tend to be pretty forgiving as long as you're honest about what you know

Do exotics never drop in strikes? I swear I've done 40+ in last 2 days. And none. Catalysts tho

they can, but it's rare if you're only doing regular vanguard strikes
they have a higher chance of dropping from nightfalls and the drop rate scales with the difficulty
