The whole Anya Taylor Joy has very little dialogue in this movie report makes a lot of sense after watching. Kid Furiosa I thought did a great job though.

Honestly not a fan of it. The beginning just moved way too slow for me. The set pieces were great but it took too long to get going for my tastes.

I’ve only seen a handful of 2024 movies and I think this might be lowest on my list so far.

I figured that we would get a lot of Kid Furiosa once that article came out saying that Anya didn’t have a lot of dialogue. I think for the general audience who watched trailers it would have been surprise to see a lot of the kid version.

I don't know why it didn't click with me, I think on the surface everything is fine to excellent.

Great acting, characters, action, etc.

Honestly I think one thing I will say is it felt like Furiosa didn't do anything for a while, and I wanted her to be more active

Like I didn't feel like she was the center of the story until Chapter 3

#

I think the story is almost too complicated, like I think what makes Fury Road for me is its simplicity

#

And the fact that the story can be told almost entirely without dialogue, this one that isn't the case. The story is richer but at the expense I think of why Fury Road worked

#

I will say the Hemsworth and Taylor-Joy scene at the end, perfection

#

All the acting is good, can't fault the acting at all

#

Me and you having opposite opinions on these two films tracks so much lol

I don't know/think it beats Dune in most of the below the line stuff, maybe production design?

Idk I thought fury road was good but emotionally I didn’t really connect with the characters as much as in furiosa
