||oh my god they kept the green hair||
Is this a dig
A little bit
Oh boy
I am halfway through this episode and can confidently say that this show still manages to take forever to do nothing
Even with the short runtime
Is the point of Mandoverse to just show the ineptitude of New Republic?
This episode is better. It doesn’t have to deal with too much backstory and it helps that it seems like we are going to be focusing on just the Ahsoka/Sabine storyline for now.
Yeah I did like this one better
Not bad.
agreed, not bad, the obsession with WW2 bombers and fighters continues
I need to re-watch a small section, and I need Obi’s HR knowledge after he watches
This is very clearly a show for children
I mean it’s Star Wars
I continue to not understand the hate.
I'm 23-minutes into this episode and nothing of substance has happened.
Because I want to be an informed hater. Also maybe something interesting will hapen and I'll enjoy it.
agree that we watched a person make hand gestures at a cup for 45 seconds...
but I'm intrigued
Actually Ahsoka just jumped the shark, but in space. I love this show.
I thought Hera’s makeup looked better in this episode.
Ivanna’s portrayal of Hati is so good. Excellent acting.
classic Star wars fans, focusing on the makeup
I said fan
TBH I think some of us just want something that checks more boxes than:
✅ is Star Wars
✅ is Disney content
I'm genuinely pumped for everyone that enjoys it and am trying to get there,
I mean I find the story enjoyable and others in my circle do too
And there are many in my circle who won’t just enjoy stuff just cause it checks off boxes
this channel
I think if they tightened up some of the scenes it'd help pacing but it's otherwise decent, the dog fight was fun if not a little silly when she went on the wing
Love the architecture
actually those were whales
They 100% need to revisit the editing. There's no reason for things to be as padded as they are.
The dog fight went on for 10-minutes, though.
the reason is because they wrote it as a 6 episode show like marvel and then were told it was 8 episodes
10 minutes of peak though
dogfight was good though yes
also, the rules of space combat in star wars continues to be nonsense. don't charge the turbo lasers dummy
I mean, was it? It was them seemingly shooting the ship over and over and Sabine missing shots for a solid 4-minutes. At some point the tension fades away.
also lasers / plasma bolts aren't flak cannons no matter how much you want them to be
Can no one enjoy anything
those two scenes just took me out of the overall fight. agreeing with bagel that it went too long, it's not dunkirk
hating it is actually a good thing, lack of engagement at all would be the bad version
Yeah, the laser turning into flak cannons stood out to me. That was a bit weird.
i'm not hating hating though, i'm enjoying it for what it is
It’s just like someone says “oh this was cool” or “oh I really liked this!” And then immediately it’s shit on or torn apart
which is season 12 of a kids cartoon
That's what it is IMO. Like if they chopped that down to maybe 3-minutes and upped the ante, I'm all in.
It felt very TLJ "slow space chase" to me because it went on for so long and it only focused on them. Just felt like it lost steam.
Also feel like I got Andor'd for a bit there because I wanted more of Hera vs the suits
Ahsoka on the wing ruined it for me, just have them escape and land on the planet, it was too silly
Super unncessary
but also yes, more MM and Andor please
The space suit being custom made for her tentacles sent me a bit as well
I just didn’t expect it idk why
my partner basically said "I can't get dressed quicker than she can put on a space suit"
I don't know if I want Sabine to be a force user or not. Perhaps this is where me not watching the show is proving to be a knowledge gap on something vital that happened.
Maybe a better way of saying it is I wouldn't find it exciting if her path to being a Not Jedi ™️ is just "practicing hard!" / "need to really want it!" — hopefully it's a bit deeper than that.
I’m assuming if anything it’ll be something like donnie yen’s character in rogue one
That would be awesome.
I mean...they either end up stuck in the other galaxy for the spin off franchise "Star Wars: A galaxy farther away" or die right?....because of the (sequel) implication
Star Wars is for children tbh.
And I don’t mean that in a bad way.
Star Wars has always aimed to be family friendly
I’m really curious to see where they go with marrok
This would be way better than taking the Back to the Future route, with Ahsoka telling Luke in the series finale "and by the way, if a young woman anyone comes asking for training, don't mention me, 'kay? 😉 "
Realistically ahsoka is probably dead
Can't tell if Ahsoka on the wing is so out there it's good or so out there it's dumb
it’s both imo
How you feel about the above is how you should feel about the scene
This is rad af
Also from now on, when I need a minute in a meeting to talk to a single other person, I'm going to make other people leave the room instead of stepping out myself. It's a Mothma power move
MON MOTHMA'S BACK
You joke but I know a CMO who does this
Will be on a large call and say "[name], [name], [name], [name], and [name] can you drop off so I can speak with Treefarmer" and everyone leaves immediately.
Oh...crap wait I do that too...but after the meeting to not waste everyone's time
This dude will do it mid meeting. He gets pissed off so easily and can't hold it in. Just needs to immediately yell at someone.
Many group meeting platforms have break out rooms. You should check if yours has it and suggest that.
Power move
then you have andor and deadly chopper
chopper kills
Fr, ever since mando they’ve pulled a different style of cgi with a lot of smoke/ more conventional explosions. It’s not bad enough to ruin anything, but it’s just enough to pull you out
Like the flashes of light caused by deflector shields in a new hopes opening were so cool, bring those back
Beedont already off to a banger. During this training scene:
Have midochlorians been retconned?
Why is this a parallel?
What if it’s just 30 mins of this?
Cut to a montage…
Safe to say he loves this show
“I like this lady” he doesn’t know her name, but it’s Hera lol

OMG this whole time I was like “why does Huyang sound like David Tennant”
“Also this crazy ex gf character … what is her deal???” Beedont about Shin
Wow nothing happened that episode
Excuse me they Star whales ie purrgil
Beedont really doesn’t like Rosario and thinks Ashoka and Sabine have no chemistry lol. Tbh I think I could have not watched this episode and I wouldn’t have missed any context for the next episode. The music and some of the visuals remain a highlight for me, but the dialogue writing is atrociously bad and the pacing is also bad. I do beg the question of why this exists. It’s gonna be whack if episode 8 is just finding thrawn.
I found the dog fight pretty boring which is kinda a feat cuz normally I like them. And filoni def thought the wing scene went hard when he wrote it 🤣
so far its fine, nothing too outrageous or absurd to really complain about.
its just going
i think the show's not gonna be really interesting till Thrawn comes in
and then it faces a different problem
either Thrawn is dealt with by the end of the season, making the build up less interesting
or Thrawn is left to be dealt with in Filoni's movie, leaving the show unsatisfying
Lose lose then
let's be real, we're all just here for the hayden christensen scenes
Kinda how I feel re: the why. I don’t think it’s horrible - it’s not like boba fett bad. It’s just whelming.
Lol beedont said that Sabine was as emo/annoying as Hayden in the prequels 💀💀💀
I feel like I’m watching a different show
ever since someone said it's like Filoni gave Rosario Dawson direction like "Ahsoka's older and more stoic now" i can't unthink that
she is which is especially funny considering that, by this point in the timeline, Sabine is like 30
Lol that’s absurd wtffff
Ahsoka is like 45
And tbh I don’t want Sabine to be a Jedi. Just think it’s more interesting not being one
I think a mando Jedi is neat
We already have Grogu
he’s basically gonna be that and also we already had a mando training montage with the dark saber
but we don't really need another one
Like this storyline in a lot of ways has pretty much been done fairly recently
Grogu is a toddler
she's gonna become one so filoni can continue his darksaber nonsense
He’s 50 years old!!!
have her challenge bo katan
THEY HAD HIM FIGHT ANOTHER MANDO
grogu is over 50
HE WENT TO BATTLE
Wow how sizeist of you
I want more women Jedi
I don’t if they’re written this poorly
anyway yeah during the events of this show Sabine is anywhere between 30-35 and Ahsoka is 45-50
Sorry if it’s a hot take but if this is the female led Star Wars I get - im Gucci
Look at the dialogue of Mon Mothma in this vs Andor
Hottest take: I don’t have an issue with the writing.
Ezra is also 30-35 and they're absolutely gonna play him off as a kid still when he comes in
100% guaranteed
This just makes the show weirder for me learning this lol
the writing is slow but it's fine
just have to consider Andor an outlier
star wars writing is not meant to be that good lmao
there’s really no reason it can’t be good with the level of talent and money behind it
so far im leaning that this shouldve been a 23min animated show
I don’t really get the point of settling for things that are creatively bereft
Everything I knew was that it was the next seasons of rebel script converted
#HuyangGang
rebels dialogue was at least better tho lol
this episode was a little bit better with dialogue tho
Sure it’s a low bar tho
Anyway that last minute with the Baylan zoom in
I did wish we had writing like Andor but I don't think the shows had the same writers
Andor getting trimmed down to 2 seasons because they felt thats what the story needs tells me everything about the credibility of the writers
Favreau doesnt know Mando's end, which is fine, im sure a lot of great TV shows werent sure how everything will play out. But the cynic in me just screams, "they want to do this for as long as it prints money"
that's because that's the disney strat, it's not really cynical, just realistic
There's a reason they rushed so many movies
You were really on one last night lmao.
I guess I hope you find something you like in this show so it makes this experience worth it.
Kaz’s dad was in this episode btw
Hasbro solicited the Ahsoka cast figures today.
I don't like how plain Sabine's expression is. Her box art has more of a smirk than the toy does.
Par for the course, I guess
me
They should've just aimed at the ship
Destory that and she has nothing to land on
But then she couldn’t have done a cool flip
TBH this was the most offensive sequence to me, because it played out like a Full House episode
Robo goes down
See whales
Robo wakes up
"Let me tell you about the whales!"
Mom + Daughter look at one another
"Oh~~~ Robot! 🥰
Credits
She would've been cool flipping forever
Maximum cool
I’m surprised that you’re surprised Star Wars is corny
I guess I'm suprised because the internet is telling me this is prestige television
Who is telling you that
maybe stop listening to podcasts that say ahsoka is prestige television then lmfao 💀
Very good point
I like listening to the reactions though. Sometimes you'll hear someone gush so hard about something that it makes you rewatch it and go "yea, that was pretty cool"
Yeah that’s fair
Similar thing happened to me with the Barry finale
I’m honestly just praying shin and elsbeth show up in other projects after this
If they aren’t killed off ofc
I can’t sit through another season of Favreau wasting giancarlo
Who would be stupid enough to express a middling to positive opinion about Star Wars in public where the Star Wars fans are?
???
Calling ahsoka prestige television is an extremely positive opinion on the show
I literally like the show but calling it prestige television is like saying endgame should’ve been nominated for best picture
Yes, but even being a little positive is dangerous in this hobby
If there's an actual reason why Star Wars "doesn't matter" anymore, it's because the conversation about it is over before it begins.
tbh id rather have nerfed starkiller instead of ezra as Marrok
When you consider things, Ezra doesn't really make sense. Ezra and Thrawn rode the space whales out of the galaxy in 1 or 0 BBY. It makes no sense to have him turned into an inquisitor and come back in such a short time(in whichever order) while Thrawn is seemingly stuck there still several years later.
If it's not a brand new character, it's going to be a nerfed starkiller especially given Witwer is playing Marrok.
is Witwer playing Marrok specifically or is he just "Additional voices"?
I really, really hope it’s a brand new character. Why muddy the show with yet another cameo (and an unearned one at that)
part of me still expects whatshername
Barriss Offee
i literally never remember that every time i try to say it
Barriss would actually be an interesting twist though they’ve given them a male presenting voice
fuck it, full strength starkiller
Full strength starkiller would just fuck the entire film universe.
The lead reason for considering it be Starkiller is that Filloni has talked about bringing him into cannon years ago so it's something he has thought about doing.
I’m the only one who wants marrok to just be marrok 🧍♂️
I mean, that's the preferred outcome
but it's a new, masked character in Filoni's self-congratulatory festival
it's more likely than not to be someone from TCW or Rebels
I expect marrok to be someone connected to Mando or future episode 7 or 8 knowing star wars
Broom boy’s dad
That’ll unite the channel
what episode # do we get the season 3.5 Mando episode in Ashoka?
Season 3 and this take place at about the same time so probably not
better question is what episode does deepfake luke get forced into
Why is there no fan art of obi wan and hera
Rewatching episode 3 with my bf
Absolutely in love with the Sabine and Ahsoka training scene
No one is addressing the elephant of the room being a deepfakes Leia being possible
im just interested to see what they do with Marrok, I hope he has some importance cause rn hes assistant to the assistant to Skoll
I think they keep using Mon Mothma in everything to avoid doing that
like canonically at this point i think Leia is leading the new republic army?
So senator Xiono is the father of Kaz Xinono who is the protagonist of the children’s show Star Wars Resistance and takes place about two years before the force awakens.
Hera’s comments embarrass the senator so hard that he enrolls his son to join a new republic feat when he becomes of age making him a nepo baby for the resistance
Marrok feels like a way to give witwer a canon character that’s his own tbh
Shin is probably gonna kill him
Oh yeah now that we have Jacen we move on to #ZebWatch
Zeb shows up and immediately dies
Don’t you dare
When zeb shows up in a fight against 3 dark side force users and a nightsister
I legitimately forgot about zeb
And the fact that he’s already been seen in live action
New theory: marrok is Kallus
I think that might be the ugliest dude I’ve ever seen
Why would Zeb’s husband be a bad guy
If I had sideburns that were that fucked up id become an inquisitor too tbh
he a big wolverine fan
Maybe Marrok is a Palpatine clone, give the people what they want
That might be the only thing that makes me stop watching this
Another Palpatine before snoke? I understand operation cinder, but even that would be insane
Marrok is Snoke (Beta Build)
Marrok is cobb vanth
Marrokk actually never takes his mask off, so we don't get a reveal during Ahsoka, but in a year or see we get a new Disney+ show: Marrok
And in that show he takes his helmet off. And it's Pedro Pascal.
Book of Marrok
Sir, please no writing during the strike
marrok is red yoda
No no no. Then we'd know red yoda's name before a full season of merch without it
I really think Marrok being Starkiller just makes sense
I know people here will hate it
But it makes sense from a story telling point.
it's the easiest call ever
filoni has talked about adapting him before
and "it rhymes"
anakin's apprentice vs vader's apprentice
Yeah. I'm not going to be mad about it. It gives Witwer a chance to be in it live action after all these years of voicing characters. He potentially a bigger star wars nerd than Filoni even so it's about time.
Oh I didn’t even think about that piece. Yeah….totally whats happening.
it's very funny though that starkiller is just what kylo ren wants to be
I'll be big mad because I genuinely want Filoni to tell his own story and not rope in other storylines to pad it out
I think pulling from a backlog of characters comes with a ton of baggage re: expectations
Okay. Be mad if that's the path they take. That's your right.
a difference of opinion allowed in this channel? nevvah
One of the mostly positive podcasts (Midnight Boys) I've been listening to raised an interesting point about Thrawn that resonates with me and could be the unlock I need to fully enjoy it. We need to see him soon and understand why Ahsoka and Hera are so hellbent on stopping him.
He feels largely imaginary at the moment and while I know he is the big bad — and worth Ezra sacrificing himself for — we should already be witnessing some of the chaos he is capable of.
Think Gus Fring with Breaking Bad, Lalo in BCS, etc.
I fully expect him in the next episode
Sorry next next
I got mixed up
I hope he is.
But Episode 5 when Filoni directs again
There ain’t no way he’s not directing Thrawn’s return
And I hope it's not some end of the episode "look at this evil silhouette!" moment
Like bring this dude in and let him cook and demonstrate why I'm supposed to be like "oh shit, let's stop him"
It’ll be end of next episode or towards middle-end of 5
You can’t show him TOO early, he’s an end of act 2 reveal
Yeah, imo the Thrawn thing is working now, at least for someone who hasn’t watched the animated stuff, mostly because of the implied threat
I mean it depends on when that big bad gets dealt with
Thrawn ain’t getting completely dealt with in this show
Theres zero chance of that
Is it though? The scene with Hera makes it seem trivial, because she is being brushed off so easily and apparently has been having this discussion multiple times
Like this guy is very obviously important considering the people trying to find him. but they’ll definitely need to do something to up his threat level
And he doesn't need to be. Gus wasn't handled in a single season.
the new republic are clearly portrayed as dumb in that scene though, which is a pretty major throughline in the mando verse
we’ll probably get the reveal of thrawn in ep 6 or 7
IMO it's less about them being dumb and more about Hera should probably know that by now, so why is she continually having a conversation she knows is a dead end
I’m sticking with 5
That's where I get stuck
cause politics
Filoni wants to be the one to direct return of Thrawn
Lol thrawn is the biggest threat to the new republic. None of them want to fight in another war to prevent a war and that’s how we got the first order
If that's true why don't they care when Hera is like "let's go look!"
Because the new republic is made up of rich assholes
That’s like the whole point lol
New Republic is made up of incompetent billionaires
Thats why Leia left to start the Resistance
They don’t actually care about the safety of the galaxy, which is they are explicitly called out as not having fought in the war
This is pretty clearly a major subtextual point of Mandoverse
So this is the loop that I bump against. If they don't care — and we're shown they don't care — why is Hera (who cares alot) continaully trying to convince people that don't care.
And she wants to believe in what she fought so hard for working
Also like they need the resources
So why not just ask even if you know it probably won’t work out
What part of it is out of character?
Her sitting back and not taking an action she knows to be right
The way they speak about on the podcast was like "Rebels Hera would step all over these people"
This is honestly a tale as old as time, the revolution happens, a new government takes over, that government fails and the old government (or something similar) takes over.
She’ll probably take more action on her own towards end of show
I mean, Rebels Hera would be, but she also now has a son
Who she is literally all he has left
Not dissecting that. More from a storytelling device you often meet people at their most interesting moment. So Hera in this moment is presumably having a conversation she has had X times — why keep trying? The way that scene is handled is as though it's a pointless conversation .
Bur for years?
The scene exists in the show so people aren’t asking why the new republic doesn’t just steamroll elsbeth and co
The ghost crew is scattered: Zeb is with whoever he’s with now, Sabine is doing her own thing, Ezra is gone and she lost Kanan
Honestly I think what you are all saying is more interesting than what I watched
THE BREAK IN HER VOICE WHEN JACEN SAID HE WANTS TO BE A JEDI
I KNOOOOOOW
This is where I honestly think that having watched rebels would have been beneficial for this show
Even without rebels this is all pretty well laid out imo
Knowing her character and her losses beforehand and going into that conversation helps a lot too
Her motivations for trying to work with in the system that is.
Yeah lol I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes of clone wars and have like a brief understanding of the rebels finale and it all makes sense to me
I was honestly not expecting a Jacen appearance, even the name drop got me excited but seeing him made me giddy @unreal bay
I clapped
Which is what should happen, honestly that seen did more to show how the first order came to be in power than anything in the sequel trilogy
Well the sequel trilogy happens once the first order comes to power so
Lol fair
This is a rebellion right? I rebel
It’s a new republic now. Not a rebellion
Oh god, I’m now getting fearful we’ll get cgi Leia recruiting Hera to resistance though
I'm not bumping up against the history of the character and how it impacts the scene — it's honestly not complex — it's that they keep telling us across these shows (and even movies) that the new republic is stupid but they're not doing a good job of making me/us care.
We don't know what they stand for, what they want, who the brass is — they pop up as holograms in this scene and are basically just there to give Hera a reason to make big decision. But understanding Hera as I do, it seems like she should've arrived at that big decision already.
That’ll be the post credits scene and I will cry so hard I get dehydrated
She knows Leia though already
Maybe to put it more clearly: Ahsoka and Hera are desperate to find Thrawn. What we're being shown are people that have taken a very roundabout way of taking action on that.
there's a difference between the Republic being ineffective, and being cartoonishly incompetant though
They literally say Chancellor Mon Mothma several times
That's a single person that IMO they completely destroyed post-Andor
Different conversation
yeah, and she's proven repeatedly (andor) she's not a saturday morning cartoon michael scott. the republic can't be both competant to run a massive galaxy wide government but also dumb enough as they're being portrayed. it's like storm troopers who both are expert marksmen in clone wars and can't win a prize at the carnival in obi-wan
sorry, andor set my expectations too high for what star wars could be
That Hera scene is the perfect example of this show trying to achieve the impossible.
If you're a Rebels fan, that scene makes perfect sense because you have all of the backstory and are like "yea, Thrawn has to be stopped and these people are dumb!"
If you're a newcomer, you have no understanding of why Thrawn is bad and outside of Ahoska and Hera telling you he has to be stopped at all costs, you're left with "okay..."
I don't think it succeeds on either of those fronts.
Basically where I'm at.
but I’m a newcomer and it made perfect sense to me lol
Except its clear that Mon Mothma is supportive of Hera. But she’s one person and its a democracy not a dictatorship
The storm trooper problem is a degradation in training/etc. Who knows. But they definitely got worse from prequels to OT, so it makes sense for them to be worse in Obi than Clone Wars
That's been a trope for almost 50 years, no sense in explaining it now
she's the chancellor, theres a billion senators, they can send a single ship to investigate a threat to their government
Padme is out there jet setting the galaxy but 'well these 4 people said no'
They weren’t asking for a single ship
Generals are bureaucrats
"makes sense" narratively/from a place of story quality, not "makes sense" because I know who they're talking about
Yeah she was literally asking for a fleet
from a narrative perspective, imo the scene exists so we have more of a reason to care about ahsoka and Sabine’s mission
We already care about that though
The audience knows now that a fleet of ships aren’t gonna swoop in to save them
it adds to the stakes
Eh, I’d argue thats still possible but its not an immediate thing.
I mean Hera might show up but I doubt anyone else will honestly
Yeah Hera/rest of ghost crew probably show up by end
100% this!
And maybe that's part of why the show feels weird at times. It's humans acting like animated characters rather than humans feeling human?
I mean the only person left is Zeb
(And his husband)
Did something happen to him at the end of Rebels or is his character reveal part of the chase we're all experiencing together?
I also don't recall any of that from Rebels but i did skip around a bit
He’s off with the new republic right now
He was seen at one of their bases in mando season 3
With the rangers or whatever they’re called
TBH I think this is where the writing clearly demonstrates it's lack of scope
The all-or-nothing positioning of the conversation — which is basically just there to setup Hera for failure — is lacking nuance and wider purpose. Like, can you spare a droid? A scout? There is a way of solving that which isn't so otherworldly silly.
Do a slow zoom on Hera's face as she rattles off all of the terrible things Thrawn has done. It just seemed lazy on both sides of the conversation.
Personally I liked how vibrant and colorful Andor was

True we love cherry picking
Honestly coming after Andor is the wrong move. Challenging the goat.
I feel the same way about Andor that you do about Ahsoka
Just an utter disdain for the characters and the corner of the fiction they stem from
A truly baffling project that was seemingly made for no one
I just chose not to watch it, though.
The craziest thing with andor is I’ve seen like 3 different people hate on it without watching it, but after watching it they fully get it lol
So your take is both terrible and uninformed. Got it.
I watched the premiere
Didn't grab me
I probably should have continued to comment in the discussion threads even after I dropped it though.
1/3rd of the premiere or the full 3 parts of it
The first three episodes
And #4 I think. That's when the lady Imperial officer gets introduced, right?
Girl boss Dedra
Who is this a subtweet at? Pretty sure we’re all caught up with the episodes and finished Secret Invasion.
It's also not really Cassian's fault (he doesn't help though). I find that inter-trilogy period where the Empire is at full power to be one of the least interesting eras of the canon to explore.
It's slow...but in a good way, i can understand finding it hard to get into, but surprised when people say they didn't get it
yeah but it's the empire from their perspective, outside of Tarkin and Vader we don't get that elsewhere
It is slow, and I do think the first three episodes are the “weakest.” But I don’t see how it isn’t more interesting than “new republic is dumb as hell.”
Literally andor vs ahsoka lmfao
Okay. So stop watching it.
Dude I like the show
Lol honestly I’m sick of this shit. First off people can have complex emotions about things without it being as strong as “disdain.” Bagel literally said he would buy a BS of the Absoka space suit. How does that translate into disdain?? Learn some nuance, for real.
It was the same thing with the prestige comment lol. Something can be good or enjoyable and not “prestige.”
It’s a spectrum
People can also criticize media and still enjoy aspects of it???
I think Ahsoka is fine. It costs me approximately 30-50 minutes of my time once a week at dinner.
Then I got done and we were literally comparing it to Jumping the Shark in Happy Days.
the Internet has made this point very hard for people to remember I think (meta commentary, not against people here)
Lol Bagel made that comment tongue in cheek wtf
Evidently !!!
If you think it’s just fine why are you so emotionally invested in what other people think lol
30-50 minutes of reading this thread alone tbh
So more effort invested than that for sure
You're probably right. It's not worth engaging with this franchise in any way anymore.
My brain is just being bad. Nothing to see here.
I mean she literally leaps over idiot pilots. Poetry.
What if Marrok is Mara Jade
I hope they girl boss that hard
Marrok is baby kylo ren on stilts
Woah what happened here
This show makes me sleepy
I love the look of Syndullahs face. Lots of wide eye, “wtf am I doing here?” And also wtf is the point of having lasers on a ship when you have to hit a shuttle 50 times to do any damage
Wife gave up after part 1
Lost as shit
Honestly super silly. Also when Ahsoka did her shark jump, weren’t the shields down? Literally all they had to do was shoot any part of the ship and they win.
No gotta shoot the Jedi instead of shooting at the fucking ship to blow everyone up
6 fighters can’t take a shuttle with only a tail gunner
Also what’s with all this new Laser Flak
The fuck is the point of that
The sequences of some of these scenes seem really drawn out and slow. Like it felt like Ahsoka was taking a LOOOOONG time in that temple
Sabine was taking her sweet time in her room looking at stuff
And the environments look really bad CG wise.
Sabine fight was fucking fire
This actress really knows how to sword fight, can see it in the blindfold test. Definitely some Kendo experience
Blindfold test, tailgunner ship battle, it’s like poetry it rhymes
the first 2 episodes felt like they’re more drama focused
have we ever seen a ship actually explode that wasn't a fighter from laser blasts?
You mean the two villains in the same ships?
That the other 4 got easily torn apart in one shot?
Pl- force armor
That shuttle took 50 shots lol
The new republic should just make a bunch of those
Invincible fleet
How do you scroll to the very top on mobile lol
I need some discourse
Ew nvm
This is a kids show bagel. This isn’t meant for us
Yes kids show
Slice the shit out of everyone in the first few mins
Also I hate how the lightsabers look in this
They literally just look like something you can buy at GE
The blades used to look so cool
Yeah, they animate them differently and it's not as fun
They’re darker on their colors
Prequel lightsaber wounds actually hurt
Everything else
Saw an analysis of that that. Quigon pretty clearly got hit more towards the middle and higher up. If his physiology is like ours, that would've taken out his spinal cord and some major arteries just cutting of bloodflow to and from his organs and lower body.
Maul got sliced in half but he survied on basically pure hate while Quigon ascended.
Quigon a bitch
There’s no analysis
This is just how they tell stories now
Hell even clone wars deaths are brutal sometimes
Fuckin chopper murders everyone
literal war crimes
Please, I only want positivity in this channel.
We can have positivity
No need to tear down peoples opinions
Just acknowledge and move on

Her surviving is the least offensive thing about that mini arc
Especially because you know for sure we’re getting some D- dialogue before the rematch
“This time I won’t miss”
It’s the most offensive to me, #1 Quigon Stan 😤
Quigon the goat
You just don’t do a death fake out in a double episode drop that reveals she’s in perfect shape almost immediately
They basically just wanted to find a way for Ahsoka to have a 1v2 in real-time slow motion, and sidelining Sabine got us there
I forgot how much training Sabine has had
Becuase she held up pretty fucking well against bowlcut Jedi
I mean there is some science behind it
#1142178451416166601 message
I posted a video about it last week

Is marrok the new mephisto
Marrok is Korram backwards, and thats a region in Uttar Pradesh India
Now, Pakistan is next to India right?
Oh SHIT ITS KUMAIL NANJIANI
lowkey kinda why i wish it was animated so they could bring in Luke Skywalker, in live action having him in this would be too much of a big deal
Watched the new one yesterday. Show is still not very good but Ahsoka in space went hard
Still trying to figure out my expectations for this show. Was it intended for me? at the time a young*-ish* adult watching the clone wars and rebels cartoons? Or is this geared more towards kids of right now? And do I like Andor more since maybe thats geared more towards adults?
Would kids today be straight up bored with Andor?
i was bored with andor until the third episode
if that tells you anything
i can't imagine young kids would even get to the third episode
Andor w/o Rogue One is probably less compelling
But because it exists, it makes Andor an amazing watch
less compelling but I dont think anyone would miss out on anything without Rogue One
The narrative of selfish loner -> willing to die for the cause is a good one
Andor is still the only character shown from Rogue One right, there arent any other people mentioned
I don't believe so
Not until next season.
or star wars casuals who want lightsabers and mandalorians
One of the guys in prison with him is in Rogue One
Ohhhh that's right
I didn't register that at all lol
Maybe this is toxic but this show is spending too much money to be a kids show and quite frankly, that’s not the main demo now. Star Wars fans have grown up.
None of the advertising for this show is directed at children. And I just don’t think Star Wars is bringing in the kid demo that way anymore across the board.
Yeah, that’s a show clearly for children.
But that is by far not the main focus right now imo
If ppl think Ahsoka is a kids show, can’t wait to see it get nominated for children’s programming at the TCA.
It’ll be at the Nickelodeon kids choice awards
Completely agree and tbh I feel like it's become a lazy excuse for anything that isn't stellar
I do think adult shows can attempt to be kid friendly and vice versa, but they still serve a main audience.
Probably why a common thing reviewers/podcasters/youtubers are asking is "who is this show for?" -- it's trying to be everything for everyone and is losing steam because of that.
It's only three episodes and a lot can (+ hopefully will) change, but they also gave us a filler episode this week. Not a great sign/doesn't instill confidence in the show knowing how to manage it's time
What’s up with filler episodes with such a short season
Are they really having some issues coming up with some good writing?
Y’all need to watch some shows with actual filler
This isn't Naruto-bad, but it's still bad that they can't service the plot by episode 3
i've really come to dislike the term filler episode
because it's not even used correctly 99% of the time
filler episodes are anime literally filling a gap between manga chapters that it's adapting
Filler episodes are entries in a generally continuous serial that are unrelated to the main plot, don't significantly alter the relations between the characters, and generally serve only to take up space.
ie, the naruto beach episodes
How people act
this is the most um akchually i will ever get, i promise
I'm happy to use it loosely when we're in the era of 6~8-episode seasons and showrunners still don't have enough creativity to saturate that time
If you remove the gratuitous lingering shots and elongated sequences in this episode, you probably have like 10-minutes of actual content.
To @dreamy maple 's point that is Disney XD "keep my kid busy for a few moments" pacing
I just have to say that filler isn’t a term used exclusively for anime. It has existed in normal shows too.
They literally have a "hold for a applause" beat when Jacen shows up
And I applauded
i just can't believe they actually kept the green hair
I have questions about the green hair 😂
like, cartoon Jacen looks like their character designer said "this character will exist on screen for a grand total of 30 seconds, let's make the most horrifying abomination possible"
Half Twiilek, half human. Where's the twiilek portion?
green hair
He’s supposed to have like green tinted ears
It’s probably just hair dye from Sabine
Kanan’s human dna was too strong
This is how I feel about Andor as well. I vaguely care about Mon Mothma and she's the only reason I stuck with it. I did enjoy the prison episodes but I felt it was too slow up to that point.
Hera's dad has orange skin and Jacen was supposed to inherit that but they just made him look like a pumpkin idk... Live action Jacen was an improvement but the Twi'lek mixed kids are just wild genetics from what we've seen in Star wars so far
I know this is fake because Filoni isn’t in a cowboy hat
Making a show for me
tldr Sabine and Hera like Ezra, who disappeared with Thrawn
that's it'
that's the show
also ahsoka is there
TLDR adopted son/brother went missing with someone from the blue man group and they want to find him
Blue Elon Musk
I thought the girl fight was amazing
But the bad Jedi in the ship was so comical
Why does he deflect bolts like a robot
Also still hate how the blades look
i think at this point in Star Wars there are more Jedi that survived Order 66 than were killed
After rotj?
Luke
Ezra( presumed dead)
Leia is trained but not a Jedi by choice
Grogu? I guess
What are the parameters of being a Jedi? Have a lightsaber and force powers? Or follow the Jedi order
I find the concern over Star Wars lore consistentcy really funny
Considering Jabba went from a dude to a big ass slug over a period of like 6 years
He’s Vogueing
They fight like kids slapping wooden sticks into one another
I think we can add “are desperately looking for him but also took a few years off from desperately looking for him”
I’m not sure I understand that part and Wikipedia hasn’t really revealed anything
If it’s having “force powers” then everyone is technically a Jedi (who maybe hasn’t trained or cared enough)
yeah in universe it's been 8-10ish years
since Ezra disappeared
all of the OT happened since then
There exists “an analysis”
Mister there was THREE STAR WARS that happened after rebels
So they’re not in that much of a hurry
Also wtf is the deal with MAPS
WHY ARE THERE MAPS TO EVERYTHING
MAPS IN SPACE
I DONT WANT ANYONE TO FIND ME. HERES A MAP
-LUKE
I die for the users - Ezra
Btw here’s my map
Maps in spheres hidden in ruins
Luke's in the missing part of the map, we've looked everywhere but there
He gave it to and old boyfriend to hold onto
Also Ashoka wouldn't have been granted the title of master either if she couldn't figure out how to twist the sphere along the obvious axis
I love the idea of maps and puzzles for basic things.
Makes me think of video games where a castle is all booby traps and different keys. What was living there on a normal day like? Who resets everything?
who lights the torches in the Skyrim dungeons
Uncharted does this the best
And why is there fresh food on the corpses
“No one has been here for 500 years!”
All torches lit, puzzles in perfect condition, 300 mercenaries found the back door
Also maybe just destroy that Star map for Thrawn instead of putting it in an escape room
Or keep it on your big spaceship? I don’t know
Some random temple that we know nothing about
Oh wait she does explain it right
But it was too fucking boring
Starfield and empty beer bottles and cigarettes on the surface of the moon
Ahsoka: delicately brush the entrance sewer door
Also Ahsoka: murder the entire ceiling to get in
what did they explain who left the map?
No I think she described what the temple was
But I forgot
That whole scene was so dragged out, I was nodding off
Yeah that’s the thing I don’t get. Why is there a map and temple to them?
And if it’s just to the other galaxy how do they know it’s the right one
The Luke map is kinda more egregious to me imo
assuming the space whales have been using the same migration routes for a while, it’s not implausible that some sort of ancient group of people just charted a map of their migration route to another galaxy
Yes the Luke map is stupid af - I always thought so
Any time a map is involved I just shut my brain off. looking at you ancient sith dagger
They’re both all three of them are silly.
To keep going back to a map MacGuffin is lazy and uninspiring
But also – and we will probably keep circling this – it is made more frustrating because the show doesn’t explain why Ezra or Thrawn matter, so at the moment Ahsoka is literally about nothing other than a map and whales
So many other stories have nailed the “lost at sea” foundation and literally all it takes is to show the other side
I mean you can apply that criticism to the original Star Wars too lol
I can’t believe they’re holding back either of these characters
why does Vader matter? Why does obi wan kenobi matter?
Shouldn’t they be striving to improve on a product rather than use it as an excuse?
The difference is we came into the original Star Wars without baggage
This show is nothing but baggage
My take is like, if you view a new hope now, with all the background lore from clone wars and the prequels, it’s basically the same thing
There’s baggage sure, but I don’t think it really weighs down the show all that much
The main issue I think the show has is that ahsoka just isn’t all that compelling as a protag imo
Completely agree
Part of the problem is they’re selling on us Ezra and Thrawn being more compelling
Almost all of her lines feel like obi wan lines
So they really, really have to stick that landing for any of this to work
Would Ahsoka be as popular as she is if she wasn’t a teen in a mid riff in clone wars?
Honestly probably not
But at the very least she wasn’t just another bland Jedi in terms of personality
I do like that part of her. Having been reading a lot of high republic books the Jedi are pretty boring lmao
I want her to be a bad person
Honestly let Obi-Wan fuck
Like I don’t want her to try and make nice with Sabine
Make shit awkward and weird
Give me that story
If his show had been about him being a womanizer it would have been a better show lmaaaoooo
Give me a story where Ezra and Thrawn were forced to work together to survive a strange new land and now they’re BFFs
Tbh if Obi and Padme had banged and that was why Anakin became Vader I’d be here for it
The real issue with Star Wars is there’s not enough fucking
Literally anything other than “and after 10 years we decided we should try finding our friend again”
100%
Let yoda fuck
maybe he did and that’s how we got grogu
Yoda & Yaddle’s Vegas Vacation
I’m like unironically 95% sure that they’ll reveal that yoda is baby yodas dad
I know, sadly lol
Which tbqh if he really is such a powerful force user and then just becomes a mando - what a waste
or worse a clone
A clone would be the darkest timeline no ty 💀💀💀
I still hate the mando cult shit
It’s so embarrassing
Everyone is a clone
Me 2
I never got the mando thing. When I was 15 I had friends who would make mando armor out of trash cans to cosplay
I actually can’t believe they ended season 3 with din adopting grogu
Like they had even less mando Shit to go off - wasn’t cool then isn’t cool now lol
Like was he just a non rent paying roommate beforehand ?
Yeah but I hope next season is him in wife beaters, beer gut, alcohol addiction
This sounds like a Mando sitcom and I want it
He hurls a beer can at grogu and grogu freezes it mid air with the force
Hell yeah brother
Bill Lawrence Presents “Mandos” and each week they deal with dates gone wrong or work drama
Grogu kills that robot and reclaims his body and just starts killing people
we see the return of fan favourite Gorian Shard
Honestly Grogu should kill an innocent and now it’s The Fugitive but they’re actually guilty
I still can’t believe they had Grogu stop fire again in a finale and expected us to care
I can’t revisit it because I hated the mandalore stuff so much
Blood is going to come out of my eyeballs
I mostly memory holed the finale lol
Thinking about the showdown with Gideon
Also I read leaks for Ahsoka because I just want this shit over with 😂
Damn… now I want to read
There was like a whole ass plot description of the mando finale like half a year before season 3 dropped
I honestly don’t mind being spoiled because context and presentation matter more to me than single nuggets of info
That’s how I am
I have to LOVE something to not be curious
Yeah same pretty much
Locked in so I can find out when Lucasfilm steals my red yoda ideas
i liked ahsoka because she left the jedi order
i want to see more of whats going on with that
give me more conflict about that. give me good Annie and bad vader sitting on her shoulders talking to her
Ancient sith dagger that lines up exactly with how the Death Star 2 crashed onto a planet it was nowhere near
9 is a good movie
if they cut the dagger from 9 it would have made it so much better
But the dagger is cool
9 is like another draft away from being pretty good
like i think the middle portion of it is great but its dragged down so much by the beginning and end
Let obi wan say fuck at least
he cant be aro because satine
Usc we know you’re a prude
But also you’re dumb if you think Obi doesn’t have BDE
We are not watching the same prequel
I've watched enough clone wars cartoon, the man should be allowed to fuck
If thrawn isn't in tonight's episode we're just gonna plod along until the movie with no real meaning to the show
AKA “dumbest possible decision”
You’re gonna get a Thrawn tease in the last episode and you’re going to accept it
Next episode im telling you
Dave wants to direct Thrawn return himself
Dumb if true
Why is Maul haunting a supposedly ancient temple and speaking about chosen people if this is supposed to be a whale map
cuz dathomir / nightsisters duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Watch this be Witwer’s only involvement lmao
I really hope it is
I would die laughing
Great job making magic @waxen field!
Mickey is promoting you to level 97 !
Was going through the Reddit and this person just casually dismantled the paper thin plot
Force echoes.
Hyperspace lanes brah
Please don't ping me in this channel
Wouldn’t that suggest that Maul was in the temple?
Please no longer ping me 🥰
I don’t know this feels like us doing the heavy lifting that they didn’t show
Sorry, this channel and the constant bickering is making me want to avoid it at all costs.
All good 🙏
Star wars is always broken in some way. I see no point in the constant arguing over it. Agree with it or don't. We're not in charge of the story.
I guess that’s where I’m confused
If it’s attached to an object/place then Maul knew of this temple? Seems like an odd thing to connect him to
they're just setting up the next marvel movie, don't worry
I assure you he has no idea what anyone here is talking about
that makes more sense
Yes. Son makes much more sense.
There have been other images that call back to that episode and it's quite nice they're finally addressing it.
Don’t get me started on force powers
It’s the equivalent of the “speed force” in Flash
Apparently it’s not him?
yeah i saw that it could be The Son
if the line is "he is the chosen one" that tracks
but if it's "is he the chosen one" its maul
from right here https://youtu.be/jeG215-yu-k?t=120
Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi face off for the final time.

oh, the line there is "is it the chosen one"
LOL she said the thing.
At this rate.. we'll never know
Welp
I guess he ain’t starkiller lmfao
I guess he was like some night sister magic or something?
Is it my iPad or is the sound mix in this show really bad.
Justice
Great job making magic @shadow oak!
Mickey is promoting you to level 31 !
No
Do not give the elf that line
He doesn’t deserve it
Oh goddamnit
World between worlds time
Oh no they deepfaked him
OF COURSE IT ENDS THERE AND FILONI GETS ANAKIN AHSOKA NEXT EPISODE
WHY DID I THINK OTHERWISE
I immediately prefer the “oh damn he looks way too old” flashbacks in Kenobi over that
Yeah, his face looked really bad.
Should have just left him uncgi’d
I really wish lightsaber fights would add in Force choreography.
If they’re making him that artificial and plastic looking can we just have Matt Lanter keep doing it
I like giving Hayden the opportunity to come back
I guess I missed it but he called her snips?
Straight out of Rebels
She’s speaking to the previous Avatars Jedis.
Unclear right now
Cool thanks.
Previously she was pulled there by Ezra
Yeah iirc in rebels they got in there through a portal in a specific location
Ezra got there himself through a specific portal
Marrok being nobody sucked btw. Like holy crap that was bad. They better expand on that.
Nah
I thought it was hilarious
It’s fine to just have a cool dude with a lightsaber once in a while
I was 1000% disappointed there was no zeb tho
It was. But also bad.
Anyways fine episode
Lightsaber fights were good.
Some Inquisitor homie was, if he got Thanos’d with one lightsaber.
The one time spin-to-win tactics failed.
Okay I turned on subtitles for this lmao
Which also showed that the music stinger as it went to credits was the Vader theme specifically
The echo really made it hard to hear
You vs the guy she told you not to worry about
Vu was like “why does he call her snips?!”
And then I had to explain the snips nickname
Because Filoni is a bad writer lmao
So marrok turning to dust is he some night sister magic / other galaxy zombie bs?
More questions than answers.
I hate Sabine.
Oh, he’s getting his own spin-off show? Ahsoka 2.5?
Episode was cool
But then it was dumb when Ahsoka fell off the cliff and Sabine did that
But then it was cool again with the hyperdrive
Also so Ahsoka just died then lol
How is baylan able to activate the map when they’ve had two scenes of Morgan like practically going into a trance to activate it
Wtf is that
the best way to enjoy this kind of show is not asking too many questions
Maybe the orb was pre-activated.
Nah, it was relocked when she pulled it off IMO
If Carson is there and he knows Zeb, where tf is Zeb?!
also why did the map burn Ahsoka's hand but Sabine could just hold it
Marrok dying but being like a weird force wraith (?) Is much cooler than starkiller or Ezra
Cause it was fresh outa doing the map thing
I assumed she was injured interrupting the power-generated map.
Like touching a live wire.
Lmao beedont said “I think it’s ok that Sabine is stupid it’s just a character flaw”
best episode so far change my mind
Because it’s such a high bar lol
It is probably the best episode so far because things finally happened
nah but it was actually awesome relative to other shows too
I’d have to rewatch everything, I think Shin Hati is directed to not blink in her shots.
Ahsoka vs Baylan was a cool fight, more lightsaber duels should be like that, I like the tension
Yeah she rarely blinks
Beedont calls her crazy ex gf
She’s hot and I love the “I can fix her” energy.
the show is doing a great job at making each subsequent episode more interesting
so far at least
this is true
Wow the Anakin CGI
I can fix her
Ridiculously bad
it's fine I think
not as bad as Luke CGI
but yeah I don't think there's any shots in the trailers beyond this episode
This was pretty bad.
The fight between Ahsoka and Baylan was better than the fights have been
I don't think it was the choreographing or anything that stood out (though it was great) but it felt like there were actual stakes
I just hate that I thought, "yeah, she's not dead" when Ahsoka fell off the cliff
I've gotten so used to rectons and plot twists
Same but considering the ending and Anakin's dialogue sounds like she's dead
i mean
world between worlds was previously used to time travel
so yeah she probably dead but will jump back out to before the cliff
okay I enjoyed that, nothing took me out of the show like last episode. I called the world between worlds thing but figured she'd go through the door on lothal, not fake die
good fights, love the Marrok being dust thing, Anakin CGI is fine, your brain fights it but if you didn't know the character from 20 years ago it'd be fine
also heras complete lack of interest in the on fire XWing pilot spinning out of control after the hyperspace jump "Jesus Phil, pull it together"
Tbh from a writing standpoint I don't like that the droid was like "dont split up" and then they immediately split up and got their shit pushed in
better together, droids are always right
comments think Marrok was probably Eighth Brother, reanimated by nightsisters or something
i have not read that many reviews but halfway through episode 4 and i think its really good
not perfect but i love it tbh
But fOrEsHaDoWiNg.
forgot the episode dropped and i got spoiled and i really
ugh
i have never liked the world between worlds
its lazy foreshadowing
Beedont just told me Sabine is 15 and I said no she's supposed to be like 30 lmao. and he said "why are they writing her like she's 15?"
im so gagged i did not expect ahsoka to lose that battle
talent is a factor
welp that was damn good 🧍
idk why i dont just wait until all the episodes are out
im voluntarily torturing myself with these cliffhangers
bEcAuSe WoMeN aRe EmOtIoNaL.
I mean, anyone could have seen what was coming. The heavy emphasis from Ahsoka if Sabine was able to do what was necessary when the time came.
well that's because the writing is like high school equivalent, quite frankly. But tbh it does feel like she's being written like a teenager. idk how long the time is supposed to be between this and rebels.
However old Jacen is. So... seven or eight years?
Ahsoka is written like a wise, battle-hardened veteran. Which makes sense, I think.
Baylan’s character is mad compelling
Definitely bumped up in quality
Marrok is mustafarian sand
Also the volume was valuming this episode
Just rewatched the rebels finale, and those ||whales took the entirety of thrawn’s blockade, so there can easily be a ton of ships in the other galaxy. Also, it looked like Ezra used the force to make an atmosphere in the Star destroyers bridge in case any of y’all were wondering how they survived the jump||
That went hard
I rewatched tales of the jedi last weak and the inquisitor she kills in that also turns to dust
I don't think that's consistent across all the inquisitor deaths
It's not but it's interesting that it happens more than once and when she's the one doing it

I want to know what the hell happened on Mandalore that Sabine's whole family is dead
I think that’s apart of the Mandalorian
Ripperoni sabine’s brother
But there’s other shit in rebels
